Dr. Tommie Jackson serves as fourth pastor of the
progressive Faith Tabernacle Missionary Baptist
Church in Stamford, Connecticut.
Faith Tabernacle is an active and bustling
congregation of 1200.
It completed a $5 million plus expansion and
renovation project in January 2006.
Prior to coming to Faith Tabernacle, Dr.
Jackson guided the historic Calvary Baptist Church
in Chester, Pennsylvania from 1990 � 1997.
Tommie Jackson has a rich educational background
with several earned degrees including two
doctorates.
Dr. Jackson has been involved, or serves in a number
of civic activities as a former board member of the
Stamford Child Care Center, St. Luke's Life Works,
the Stamford Young Men's Christian Association, and
the Southern Connecticut Urban League.
In addition, he is a member of the Stamford
and Vicinity Interfaith Council and serves on its
respite funding advisory committee.
Tommie Jackson has an extensive employment
history including serving in various cabinet level
positions in municipal (local), state and federal
government.
He has taught at the collegiate level and
currently is an adjunct faculty member of the
Hartford Seminary in Hartford, Connecticut.
Dr. Jackson is an accomplished writer with
published works in
