A Journey Into Faith's Time Line
Let it be known that this time line is being organized by group of Faith members. We are trying to be as accurate as possible.   Please take all mistakes for Love. Charge all mistakes to our heads and not our hearts.  Furthermore, if you see something out of order or that should be added, just let the Church Office know.

April 25, 1946          - Organized @ Little Mt. Zion Church Of God In Christ, 73  
                                    Manhattan Street Stamford, CT
                                    Rev. Dr. William Lee Baxter 1st Pastor

Church Name          - Three Fold
        
        Faith                 - Exemplary of God's reward for persistent faith and belief        
        
        Tabernacle      - Gathering place to hear the Lord's message

        Baptist             - Being followers of the great prophet John the Baptist, Precursor                               
                                    of Jesus Christ

April 30, 1950          - Formal opening and dedication service

1955                         - Birth of Faith Credit Union

May 1962                 - 1st Time without a pastor
        
October 1962          - Rev. Dr. Rafe M. Taylor from Washington, DC installed as Pastor.
                                    Theme: "Show us   
                                    the Father and we shall be satisfied".

1964                         - Obtained a mortgage and purchased Grove Street edifice.
                                    Purchased from Congregation Agudath Sholom

1967                         - The church was rededicated

August 1968            - Pastor Rafe M. Taylor resigns as pastor

February 1969         - Rev. Dr. Samuel L. White accepted the call to become Faith's 3rd
                                    pastor. Theme
                                   "Marvel not that I said unto thee, ye must be born again" St. John 3:7

April 1969                - Dr. White officially became pastor the 1St Sunday of April.

May 18, 1969           - Pastor Samuel L. White officially installed as Pastor.

1977                         - The mortgage of the church as well as the parsonage were
                                    liquidated.
                                   Faith becomes Faith Tabernacle Missionary Baptist
                                    Church due to the outreach
                                   philosophy started by Dr. White.

December 31, 1996 - Pastor Samuel L. White retires as pastor of F.T.M.B.C.

January 1, 1997       - Rev. John Norton serves as Interim Pastor

June 28, 1997          - Dr. Tommie Jackson & Family welcomed as pastor of F.T.M.B.C.

November 1997      - Dr. Jackson Installed as Pastor

June 1998                - 1t Unity Day Celebration

2004                         - Ground Breaking for "Faith Family Life Center"

June 12, 2005          - 1st summer of the S.A.G.E Camp

2006                         - Grand Opening of the "Faith Family Life Center"
